Moments From Family Camp 2017
Hello Swamp Blog Readers!
I hope you're having a wonderful day! Reminders: Please sign up for the final Swamp Work Party on May 19, if you are able to attend. Second, the Swamp is in need of volunteer boy counselors for the summer. If you are interested in serving in this way, please look into signing up. Third, please continue praying for the Cambodia Swamp Corps team as they help put on the first ever Swamp Corps Cambodia camp! Check out the Swamp Corps blog to hear from members of the team during their trip.
The Joy of Family Camp
The start of summer camp at the Swamp is only three weeks away! Woohoo! But, before camp starts, we get to have Family Camp. Family Camp is a shortened version of a week at camp, exclusively for families. Children aged five and older are able to come and enjoy the activities of camp with their parents and siblings, while the fulltime staff hangs out along with them.
I, myself, have gotten to be one of those fulltime staff members at Family Camp, and it is one of my favorite parts of the whole summer. It is so cool to watch the families bond within themselves and with other families as well. Some of the families have been coming together for years, some for the first time, but everyone always seems to have so much fun and come away more bonded than when they arrived.
This year Family Camp will be held from Wednesday, May 30 to Saturday, June 2. (You, can sign up HERE.) I feel confident that it is going to be a blast! Rather than talk about the fun of Family Camp, I think it would be better to illustrate what it's like through some pictures from last year's Family Camp:
Family Fun
Last year's Family Camp was full of epic fun!
There were Go-Carts...
Plenty of Nine Square...
Fun on the Pool Slide...
And, just the pool, in general...
There were also really fun games...
Sweet Family Memories
Family Camp is also a chance to make precious family memories...
Like This...
And, this...
It's also a chance for kids to make new friends...
And, hang out with the fulltime counselors...
And, just have fun...
Family camp is an AWESOME way to have fun and bond as a family. It is also a great first step towards summer camp for younger children. If you are interested in signing up, here is that link again. :)
That's all for this week! Until next time!
Much Love & Respect,
Julie
