For Nitro Phil.
If you grew up going to Camp Swamp, or if you've been to Camp even just once, that name probably sounds familiar to you. For years, Nitro Phil has been an integral part of Camp. On Wednesday mornings, he would sacrifice his time, wake up early, and come fish with us- he taught so many kids how to fish on those mornings, and that's something I'm sure we'll all always be grateful for.
Sadly, as a lot of you may already know, he passed away due to COVID-related illness. Nitro Phil will always be part of the Camp Swamp family, and Camp wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for his wonderful heart to serve continuously and without reservation.
I talked to a lot of counselors and volunteers this week about him, and everyone had only good things to say. We all are so thankful for him, and want to express that he will always be loved, and always be a part of what gives Camp it's spark. Thank you so much for teaching us, and for watching us grow up.
Nitro Phil's family has asked us "to remember him by making a donation in his honor as he loved the Swamp and teaching the kids to fish." If you would like to do so, I'll include a link to make a donation right here.
This week, please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. I'll be praying for God to wrap each of you up in His perfect love, and that He will provide you with the peace that only He can give.
Before I sign off for now, a quick question! What's your favorite fishing memory from Camp? Do you have any photos with Nitro Phil? We'd love to see them if you d0- we thought it would be nice to spread a little positivity and to recall some fond memories of him. Let me know in the comments below!
That's all for me this week. I love all of you so much, and as always, I'm praying for you to have a safe and encouraging week.
Much Love,
Bri <3
