Swamp Announces SURPRISE Swamp Corps 2019 Location

I hope you're having a great day. This week I thought it would be important to highlight all the Swamp Corps trips coming up in 2019! And, make sure to read through, because there is a surprise announcement in this blog. ;)
I think one of the really important parts of preparing yourself for a Swamp Corps trip is researching the background of the country you're going to. Not only is it a way to respect the people and place you will travel to, but it is also part of investing yourself in the trip. However, when trying to decide where to go, it can be helpful to have some facts at hand. I've put together some camp-related information, as well as some fast facts about the countries below.
Cambodia (Year 2)
Trip Cost: $2,595
When: May 8-20, 2019
Climate: Mid-May to Early October: strong southwest monsoon winds, heavy rains, high humidity; yearly temperature range: 82 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit
Language: Khmer
Predominant Religion: Buddhism (93%)

Cuisine: typical diet is rice and fish with various garnishes; local fruits
Taiwan (Year 1)

When: July 27 - August 12, 2019
Climate: subtropical with the southern part being tropical; mean annual high temperature: 70 degrees Fahrenheit; Summer: rainy season in southern part of island, dry season in north
Language: Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, Minnan; each aboriginal group speaks its own language
Predominant Religion: Nonreligious/Chinese Folk-Religionist, Buddhism, and Taoism
Government: Republican system of government
Cuisine: said to have one of the best cuisines in the world; pork, seafood, rice, chicken, and soy are commonly used ingredients
Kenya (Year 2)
Trip Cost: $2,295
When: July 30 - August 12, 2019
Climate: June to August: little precipitation; temperature range: 51 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the region; most places 85 degrees Fahrenheit or more
Language: Swahili and other languages
Predominant Religion: Christian, Roman Catholic
Government: Republic Presidential system with representative democracy
Cuisine: ugali (a mush made from corn), Chapati, vegetables, stew, rice, seafood, grilled meats
Honduras (Year 1) - Surprise!
Trip Cost: $1,895
When: June 22 - 29, 2019
Climate: Temperature: mid-60's to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on location
Language: Spanish
Predominant Religion: Roman Catholic, Protestant Christian
Government: Democratic, Representative, Unitary State
Cuisine: carne asada (beef), plantains, rice and beans, soups, Baleadas, seafood, fresh fruit
